At Agoge Jiu Jitsu we welcome anyone to come train with us. Our goal is the same as yours, to train in an environment where you expand your knowledge, practice that knowledge and grow in the art of Jiu Jitsu. We value each individual’s talent and skill and encourage everyone to share what they know. We have no club affiliation required curriculum and as such can meet every athlete at whatever level they enter at. Our goal is to increase physical and mental confidence, as well as help the individual learn how to defend themselves. We believe that training to be comfortable being uncomfortable in jiu jitsu will allow you to be use those same mental skills to tackle whatever life may bring your way.
We train in both gi, or kimono and no gi. In the gi we learn techniques to take our opponent to the ground, control them once on down and submit them by implementing variety of chokes or joint locks. No gi is very similar to the gi but also incorporates many techniques found in wrestling and can be a much faster paced sparring session.
